G54 on the fixture: X ≈ 600, Z ≈ 150

Work cycle

  1. Probe: measures the left side
  2. Facing and pockets · Ø8 and Ø6
  3. Ø16 hole helically milled
  4. Holes, formed M6, reamed 6H7
  5. Counterbores Ø10
  6. Chamfers 0.2 and engraving

23 operations, 8 tools, about 9.1 min.

T1 … T8

Haas: offsets 1 to 200.

Program: T1 … T8, H = T

Probe T1, chamfer T2, drills T3/T5, tap T4, reamer T6, end mills T7/T8.

Air through the tool

“Air through tool” → Haas post: M73 / M74.

Chamfers and engraving: air clears the chip dust without wetting.

Same tool for Fase0.2 and Gravur: only the rpm changes.

Machine requirements

  • S11500: 12,000 rpm spindle
  • M88 TSC and M73 air options
  • G54 on the fixture reference
  • Reamer out at 110 mm/min
  • Positioning in G0

The probe

P9832 on · P9810 protected move · P9811 X600. S1. measure · P9833 off

S1 = writes the correction into G54. Corrects X only.

Big hole, small cutter

Ø15.7 = 2 × 3.85 + Ø8 (roughing)

Ø16.04 = 2 × 5.02 + Ø6 (finish + spring pass)

A helix instead of a Ø16 drill.

Formed M6

Pre-drill Ø5.55 (for a cutting tap it would be Ø5).

S800 · F800. → pitch 1

A forming tap doesn't remove material: it pushes it. No chips.

Before Cycle Start

  • T1–T8 loaded, H = T
  • Probe calibrated, WIPS macros
  • G54 on the fixture
  • Spindle ≥ 12,000
  • TSC and air active
  • Optional Stop, low override
